Challenges of Mobile in the Army
The US Army plans to offer the soldiers a choice of phone devices and carriers to be used with these apps. LTC Motes discussed personnel from the army talking with hardware vendors to work on phones that can be used by the military. Data security on the devices is a challenge the armed forces are trying to figure out. In April, the US Army chose Android as their platform choice. Android allows them to secure the operating system since it is open source.
