i can't remember, we're there other questions we had as we were drawing out our screens? Maybe that we "argued" over?

I want to share with all of you a blog I came across from a veteran with PTSD. I know this isn't the place and we can delete it on Sunday but I wanted those of the group who have not experienced PTSD to feel this veterans pain. This was in response to someone who made a comment that offended this veteran. I hope that our app is one way to help our veterans ease the pain that they all suffer..... (Debbie) Okay, I added a few more blogs from veterans with PTSD because their responses reference survey questions. I added these so we can be sensitive with our questions, Jonathan will be able to guide us. Wow team, we may really be on to something!

You never are cured from PTSD. It rewires your brain. I've been in therapy with the VA for forty years and can safely say I'm much worse off than when I started. Especially since I cut my drinking down to almost nothing. Alcohol would blunt it, numb it. Now that I'm nearly sober, I want to go back to cutting myself again. The deeper the cut, the more it robbed the power of the beast called PTSD. A tradeoff, physical pain over mental anguish.

But cuts always heal and the beast is always back. It screams at me. A long, nerve-shattering shriek. You can't think through it. Or feel emotions. You look to a more permanant solution. I can't count the times I've had a gun to my temple. I've always wondered if you hear the hammer strike the pimer. Perhaps one day I'll find out.

William, the people that are telling youthat PTSD is curable, are motivated by their own selfish motive. They want to take the credit for the "cure" or "we have to get these compensation-seeking Veterans off the payroll" to save money. "less money for them, more money for me".

So, William, stop wasting your time chasing specters that don't exist and find a way to help ease the pain we all suffer.

Debbie,
Thanks for posting this. I agree , PTSD is not curable. As I have shared with the team, I was diagnosed with it and deal with it in some shape or form daily. Mine is not as severe as this though. I do work for TEam RWB as most of you know if you see my Facebook posts. : ) We believe that physical fitness is a way to inspire and recover from the wounds of war visible and non-visible. This jumped out at me form your post: "
"Alcohol would blunt it, numb it. Now that I'm nearly sober, I want to go back to cutting myself again. The deeper the cut, the more it robbed the power of the beast called PTSD. A tradeoff, physical pain over mental anguish." Physical fitness blunts it for me. I do not turn to alcohol for relief. Don;t get mer wrong, I like beer. : ) BUt I find comfort in pushing myself physically. That is what Team RWB is about and physical fitness and other alternatives is what our CoP will hopefully be offering to veterans with pain like this. I hope the community we build and cultivate offers good solutions to Veterans and improves their lives and their families lives.

Jonathan,
Thank you for sharing your story/pain with me. I keep learning something new all the time about PTSD. Sometimes I think I get it and then I read what I posted above.
Deb

Wow! Jonathan and Debbie than. You so very much for sharing! Reading the posted blog definitely allows some light and understanding to what powers PTSD can hold. Jonathan, I admire your strength for sharing your stories so candidly ahow the passion you have for the creation of this app.
Harmoni :)
