The third shot uses 4 different fonts for the NAME:Pick the one you like best # 1, 2, 3, or 4. (counting from the top of course). Email Trey with your pick. Majority wins! Deadline: Friday 3/22 11pm pst
Dont like any of these choices? send me a font you do like, or find an example and send the link. I can see if I have something similar. Thanks - Trey trey@stjamesbr.org

Hi there, Can we see these or one of these using the droid sans font? Here is a sample of both regular and bold fonts http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/Droid-Sans. I like the white letters. I like the size of the GO buttons but maybe the background green could be a solid green and with a slightly different font. Is there a different house button we could try? The one above looks, at first glance like a up arrow button. (it could be just me :) Deb

Harmoni: Thanks! #8 is what I'm working on...well, Derek is working on. Hoping to have more of it done for you very SOON!! He has been working on photoshop and playing around with it so that he knows how to do what I want him to do. Coming soon... these are all good- how did these come about soo fast?!
Trey: I had some spare time at work one day so I did 1 - 7 and then created the space here to put them. I looked at Army logos and patches for uniforms. That is why one of them looks like a patch. Swords were very popular on many of the patches so I included one as well. I used the star at first because that is the official Army logo. If you want to take any of what i have done so far and incorporate it into what you are doing, that is cool. Or if you want to take mine and tweek it to be better, then sweet! Or, if they are all crap, then just ignore them and move on ;)
Harmoni: Trey, they are NOT crap! :) Are you familiar with photoshop? Would you like to work with me on doing the logo since right now I'm playing around trying to really figure it out and also haggling Derek about it. If not, cool- I'll keep on trucking but thought I'd throw out the opportunity :)
Trey: Its like our own secret thread! :) Yes I have both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. I also have something called PhotoDraw that I use because I havent taken time to learn Photoshop, but I do have the whole Adobe lot including Illustrator, etc. I can use PhotoDraw and whip out ideas pretty fast, even websites if need be. I dont want to steal any thunder. Maybe we could work together on the overall "look" to the app i.e. the look of the screens - background, color, button design, - there is soooooo much to do!!! Unless we go "plain"! ;) I really like what you did. It was just my was to contribute and try to catch up at the same time. But, yes I would love to work with you and help out any way i can.

Jonathan- I thought we were naming this "Two Fronts: Stories of The Flag" . My vote is for #3 or #8. # 8 would be great with more than one military member in the picture since most ocmbat experiences occur in units and this will also signify they are not alone in dealing with PTSD.

For #5, 6,and 7 are those pictures of the Bible? It looks to be and including the sword in there could be perceived as this war having something to do with the "Crusades". The APP needs to be neutral in regards to religion. There are soldiers from different religious backgrounds serving. Anti-colaition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan refer to us as "Crusaders".

Trey: hahahaha - sorry, I was using "free clipart" of books, so its supposed to be a generic book. A lot of insignias of different divisions had swords etc. I thought maybe a logo or style that fit closer to those would be a good fit. ??? Also, hence the patch one... We could possibly turn #4 or #8 into a "patch" style look so that our icon on the phone would look like a patch - could allow us to stand out - or not.
Maybe we should discuss style as well - do we like "clean and bold", "homespun", "gung ho army", "corporate slick", "mod", or ???? This not only affects the look, and the layout but the fonts we use etc.
Harmoni: Great Trey! I believe that Debbie wanted to help out as well with the overall look- I'm totally game for being on the design team aspect of the app! With #8 I was planning on adding a blacked-out picture that Jonathan sent me of himself, his wife, and son. Although when blacked out you won't be able to tell the family members, you would be able to see that it's more than just a soldier. I was also going to add the color back into the flag in the background and add the title...'Stories of the Flag'... and if possible 'Two Fronts"... Jonathan, YES! that is the title- This was the quick photoshop job we did that one night for just an idea.

Application Layout-

Here is a diagram of how I (Jonathan) see the layout of the App.
The communicate page is for messaging or posting, etc.............
The user should be able to navigate from the home screen to the other screens. Every screen should have the ability to navigate back to the home screen and the previous screen. The arrows illustrate that. Thoughts??????????????????

Harmoni: From reading the discussion boards, it seems as though we need to add forums that stem from each of the maps.

The diagrams below are from the meeting Trey and I had in Baton Rouge on on MOnday, December 19th. The diagrams are in order and represent how the user can navigate screen to screen:

A quick note about what you see here: Each "sheet" represents a screenshot of what a user might see. We put in navigation buttons, a basic layout, and navigation ideas. We also put design questions and thoughts at the top which should give us a starting point in Orlando. Face to face was so much easier because of the brainstorming and immediate feedback plus the use of the tools (pad and pen) together helped us work out the ideas and vision that Jonathan has. PRESCREEN: This is a form that is filled out (i guess at the Drs office) in order to receive a PIN for access to the initial login. This entire first page is basically the sign up and login in screens plus the security disclaimer.

On this sheet, are the THREE Basic Homescreens. J thought that based on your PRESCREEN form, your PIN would give you access to one of the three homescreens. Either Iraq, Afghan, or Both.
The SCREENSHOTS that follow are only of ONE tree (Iraq) but in reality there will be TWO trees, one for each "side". Instead of zooming in on a google type map, we have just a basic map with the provences drawn on it. Then by touching a province, you get a list of areas within that province (i think) to select from. This then takes you to the Communicate page.

This is the MEAT of the App. Through discussion and questions, we have visioned a Facebook style posting area (center of the sheet) which then offers many options as shown by the arrows. The posts show up as they happen just like facebook. Then you can add comments to them etc. The idea of the HOT TOPIC came up because i thought that there might be some people who served in an area that is not getting much activity on the app. So we wanted to figure out a way that they could participate eve though their area of service is not currently having much activity. So, HOT TOPICS is a way that they can see threads that are not in their area but has participation (but they would be limited to seeing Hot Topics only in their home country - or maybe province....discuss). This way they get the therapy of sharing stories instead of waiting days or weeks for someone else in their area of service to become involved. Next to HOT TOPIC is PROFILE. VALUE is sort of like +1 or Favorite where you see a list of users that you Value (i think I am remembering that correctly). ONLINE shows you who is currently logged in. DISCUSS is the current THREAD if you select one to comment on. NEARBY shows a list of USERS who are near to you (i think that is right).
ONCE AGAIN, all of this is just a "starting point" for ORLANDO discussions. We can redesign any and all of these, scrap options, add additional options, and of course we will have to make determinations on what can be accomplished by June and what needs to be left for the upgrade - Stories of the Flag v2.0 ;)
